The judiciary of the Islamic Republic announced that Mohammad Amin Mahdavi-Shayesteh, an Iranian citizen, was executed on Monday, July 2, 2025, on charges of “intelligence cooperation in favor of Israel.”
According to Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the judiciary, Mahdavi-Shayesteh was identified as the “leader of a cyber team linked to Mossad” and reportedly met with Israeli intelligence officers in a neighboring country. The report stated that, due to his “experience and skills in cyberspace and social media,” he was tasked with conducting psychological and media operations inside Iran. This marks the second execution on charges of collaboration with Israel since the onset of Israeli attacks on the Islamic Republic in recent weeks. Notably, in recent days, online campaigns had emerged to prevent the execution of this individual, who was reported to be 26 years old.
