Following the drone attack on a US military base that resulted in the death of three soldiers, the United States has initiated strikes on 85 targets in Syria and Iraq.
The US Central Command (Centcom) has reported that these airstrikes targeted the Iran-backed Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp Quds Force and associated militia groups.
President Biden, in a statement issued on Friday, asserted that the US response began and would continue at strategic times and locations of their choosing. The drone attack at Tower 22 led to the loss of three US soldiers and left over 40 personnel injured.
The White House attributed responsibility to Iran and pledged a substantial and meaningful reaction. The Iranian regime, however, has denied any involvement, dismissing the allegations as unfounded and asserting that it played no role in the decision-making of resistance groups.
