Erdogan Backs Hamas as Israel Faces Criticism

Turkish President Erdogan said Hamas acted sincerely while condemning Israeli attacks on Gaza, aligning with the militant group.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared that Hamas has acted with sincerity, while strongly criticizing Israel's ongoing military operations in Gaza.

Speaking in remarks reported by Al Jazeera, Erdogan said Hamas has shown all possible sincere solidarity, as Israel continues what he called aggressive attacks on Gaza.

The statement places Erdogan firmly on the side of Hamas, a group designated as a terrorist organization by many countries, including the United States and the European Union.

Erdogan's comments come as international pressure mounts over the humanitarian situation in Gaza, but his open alignment with Hamas terrorists has drawn widespread condemnation.

Israel has insisted its operations target Hamas infrastructure and fighters, while Turkey's stance adds to growing regional tensions.

Critics argue Erdogan's remarks undermine peace efforts and legitimize a group responsible for deadly attacks on civilians.

The Turkish leader has previously voiced support for the Palestinian cause, but this latest statement marks one of his most direct endorsements of Hamas as a sincere actor.
