The death toll from heavy rains in northwest Pakistan has risen to 25 dead and 145 injured
The Pakistani authorities announced that the death toll from the torrential rains that swept the northwestern regions of the country, which led to the collapse of several houses, increased, leaving 25 dead and 145 injured.
And the American “ABC News” network reported today, Sunday, that the rains hit the areas of “Bannu”, “Laki Marwat” and “Karak” in the province of “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”, and caused the uprooting of trees and the destruction of electricity transmission towers.
Yesterday (Saturday), Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his sorrow and regret over the loss of life due to rain and winds, and directed the authorities to pursue relief operations.
It is noteworthy that monsoon rains and floods swept Pakistan last year, killing more than 1,700 people, affecting about 33 million others, and displacing nearly 8 million.
