a total of 777 reports were registered by the Iranian Human Rights Activists News Agency (هرانا) in 2024. These reports included the sentencing of 207 individuals to death and the execution of 883 people, including four public executions.
Of those executed, 772 were men and 26 were women. Additionally, five individuals who were under the age of 18 at the time of the alleged crime, often referred to as child offenders, were among those executed this year.
Furthermore, the Supreme Court upheld the death sentences of 54 previously convicted individuals.
According to the report, 51.87% of those executed were convicted of drug-related offenses. Other charges included murder (40.54%), sexual crimes (2.49%), unspecified charges (1.81%), corruption on earth (0.79%), moharebeh (non-political) (0.79%), armed robbery (0.57%), security-related offenses (espionage, assassination, bombing) (0.57%), and moharebeh-baghy (political-security) (0.57%).
Based on the collected data, the highest number of rights violations in this area was reported in November, while the lowest number of reports was observed in June.
In the realm of executions, the execution of citizens increased by 18.3% compared to 2023, and the issuance of death sentences rose by 33.5%.
