According to the human rights organization Hengaw, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, two more residents of Mahabad, identified as Rahman Dana and Salar Shamsi Borhan, were abducted by agents of the Iranian Intelligence Organization. This brings the total number of individuals arrested or abducted in the city in recent days to 12.
Based on information received by Hengaw, on the evening of Saturday, December 14, 2024, these two individuals, residents of the village of Kolijeh near Mahabad, were detained by forces affiliated with the Intelligence Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the city.
Additionally, on the morning of Sunday, December 15, 2024, two brothers named Reebwar Rasouli and Ayoub Rasouli, residents of Mahabad, along with Osman (Shawaneh) Jahanifar, were arrested and taken to an undisclosed location following a raid by intelligence forces on Jahanifar’s family home.
Previously, Hengaw had reported the arrest of other individuals, including Yousef Qal, Aram Mabzouleh, Zanyar Seyd-Ahmadi, and Siamand Seyd-Ahmadi (four young men from the village of Beyram), as well as Qader Kheramanfar, Kamal Masoudi, and Jalal Sadafi, by security forces in Mahabad.
These arrests continue amid growing concerns about the fate and conditions of the detainees.
