Campaign for the Freedom of Johan Floderus on His 33rd Birthday
The family and friends of Johan Floderus, a 33-year-old Swedish man who has been imprisoned in Iran for over a year and a half on charges of espionage, are launching a campaign for his freedom on his 33rd birthday (September 10th).
As part of this campaign, an English-language website and three pages with the hashtag #FreeJohanFloderus have been created on social media platforms, including Twitter (previously), Facebook, and Instagram.
In a statement released on this website, which is the first official statement from the family of this young Swedish man after 500 days of his imprisonment, it is stated: "Johan has spent over 300 days in solitary confinement. He is being held under unfavorable conditions. In February 2023, he was allowed to have a monthly phone call with his family, and he resorted to a hunger strike to establish contact."
Johan Floderus succeeded in having his first video call with his family in August of this year and shared a photo with this video, showing him in prison attire in Iran, which has received media attention.
In the same statement, the family of this Swedish man writes, "Today is Johan's 33rd birthday. He should be celebrating this occasion with us... He must be released immediately and allowed to come home."
