The Pentagon announced that F-16 fighters intervened to pursue a small civilian aircraft after it violated the airspace of Washington, DC.
And the ministry added - in a statement reported by the American (Al-Hurra) channel today, Monday, that the "F-16" fighters were allowed to fly at a speed exceeding the speed of sound, which caused an explosion to be heard throughout the capital and its suburbs during the pursuit of the civilian plane.
The statement indicated that the fighters tried to draw the pilot's attention by using luminous bombs, taking into account the highest levels of safety, but to no avail, explaining that the plane crashed at a later time in rural Virginia.
For his part, an American official denied that the American fighters were responsible for the crash.
