An armed attack targeting an army camp in Pakistan
Two security officials in Pakistan said, on Friday, that gunmen in the northwest of the country detonated an explosive device while targeting a temporary army camp with missiles and weapons, killing at least 3 soldiers, but no party has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The attack comes after Pakistan announced a new crackdown on militants following renewed attacks in the past months, such as a mosque bombing in February that killed more than 100 people.
A report, compiled by a Pakistani intelligence agency and seen by Reuters, said a new, unknown militant group called the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Jihad was involved in the attack.
