A Russian pilot was killed as a result of an air ambulance helicopter crash in Volgograd, central Russia
An air ambulance helicopter has crashed while returning to its base in central Russia's Volgograd region, killing its pilot, local authorities said Tuesday.
The press service of the district health committee said, in a statement reported by the "Russia Today" satellite channel: "One of the helicopters of the air ambulance service crashed while returning to the base without any passengers on board."
The statement added that the pilot "was killed at the scene instantly."
