Iraqi Kurdish asylum has been sentenced to (9) nine years in prison for raping a Ukrainian girl in the UK
A Kurdish youth in the UK named Jwamer Saygul Jaffar. has been sentenced to nine years in prison for raping a Ukrainian refugee girl. According to the British Court of Investigation, Jwamer Saygul Jaffar., who described himself on Facebook as a "political activist" and critic of the authorities and parties in the Kurdistan Region, met the Ukrainian refugee girl in 2022 on a bus in Chester.
Jawamer and the girl later met in a park in the village of Neston in October last year.
According to the BBC's investigator, after the refugee girl refused to have sex with him, Jawamer "grabbed her by the throat and threw her to the ground" before raping her.
But then the girl runs away to a friend who calls the police.
After being arrested, Jawamer told police that the victim initially “took the initiative” and they had sex in a “voluntary” manner.
Jawameri, 24, is from the Kurdistan Region and has previously been accused of sexual assault. He is now permanently listed on the UK Sexual Offenders Register.
Investigator Sarah Egani said the perpetrator saw himself as a "predator who believes he can do anything he wants without regard to the other person, especially women.
The investigator also praised the refugee girl's "courage" for saving herself.
