Dr. Roshdi Saeed al-Jaff was arrested
Roshdi Saeed was arrested on charges of making cashless bank cheques.
A source in the Kirkuk police department said Thursday that the police station in Quriya Roshdi Saeed arrested a businessman under Article 459 of the Iraqi Penal Code on charges of making bank checks without money.
According to the source, Roshdi Saeed is currently in Kirkuk detention and transfer prison and a large number of legal complaints have been filed against him. Roshdi Saeed was an investor and owner of Adel Mutahida Company, which was supposed to build the Paradise Plain project in eastern Erbil.
The project, which consisted of 427 villas and 1,122 apartments, began in 2010 and was supposed to be completed in 2013, but the investor did not complete the work and then work was stopped by the government.
He also left another project called City Star in Duhok unfinished. In late 2016, the Duhok court sentenced Roshdi Saeed to 180 years in prison on the complaint of 300 people, under Article 456 of the Iraqi Penal Code, which deals with the slaughter of people.
Roshdi Saeed is one of the investors in the Kurdistan Region who appeared with Ibrahim Tatlises in recent years and promised to rebuild the Kurdistan Region.
