The US Treasury Department has imposed new sanctions on Iran
The US Treasury Department said six petrochemical companies in Iran, 20 ships and 11 companies in China, the UAE and Vietnam will be included in the sanctions list.
It also imposed restrictive export sanctions on 28 Chinese companies and entities for threats to U.S. national security, including interactions with Iran.
The new sanctions come after US Congressional representatives said yesterday they would encourage the State Department and Treasury to impose more sanctions on Iranian officials and institutions and called on the Biden administration to increase sanctions on Iran.
