The US military has dramatically expanded its maritime operations in the Strait of Hormuz, rerouting 49 commercial vessels since mid-July as part of a renewed blockade targeting the terrorist regime of Iran, according to US Central Command.
CENTCOM stated on X that as of August 6, the command had redirected 49 ships, disabled two, and boarded two others since the blockade was reinstituted on July 14.
The blockade is focused on the seaports of the terrorist regime of Iran, as more than 20 US naval vessels now operate in the Middle East to enforce the measures.
While details on the disabled and boarded ships are scarce, the action underscores the heightened pressure on the terrorist regime’s access to vital sea lanes.
